Tags are a flexible way to categorize users, and allows you to quickly filter and search specific users.
For example, let's assume you run a chain of 200 retail stores. Most of the time they all share the same music style, but on specific dates (e.g., Valentine's Day) the playlist changes by store type: college-town branches, standard branches, and locations whose clientele is mainly older adults. By tagging stores as college-vibe, standard, or senior-mellow, you can switch music styles for seasonal events with just a few clicks instead of managing each store individually.
You can assign tags to a sub-user from the Users tab:
Then choose the user and click "Assign tags":
You can also assign tags to multiple users in bulk by holding shift and clicking each user you want to assign tags to. After that, click on "Bulk Assign Tags"
In the 'Assign tags' pop-up window, you will see three sections:
- Create new tag: Here you can type the tag name and click "Create Tag" to make it available for assigning. The tag name has to be unique to be created.
- Available tags: Here you can see the list of tags you have created. Each available tag has 3 options:
- Edit: By clicking the pencil icon on the left, you will be able to edit the tag name. To save the edit, simply press Enter or click outside the text box. The same rule as creation applies, the tag name has to be unique.
- Assign: By clicking the box on the right of the tag name, you can assign or unassign the tag to all selected users. An empty box means the tag is not assigned to any of the selected users, a check mark means all users have the tag assigned, and a hyphen (-) means that some of the selected users have the tag assigned but not all of them.
- Delete: By clicking the 'x' to the far right, you can delete the tag. When a tag is deleted, it will be removed from all the users it was assigned to.
- Selected users: This is a list of all users you have selected to assign or unassign tags to.
After you are done assigning tags, click the save button on the bottom right to save all the changes.
